Connect Beyond the Human presents an urban plan emphasizing a multispecies perspective instead of humans. The term “symbiosis” refers to a relationship that humans and all other species are part of a system of interdependence.

We input the picture from research about slime molds to study the feasibility of the process that uses AI drawing to speculate on the form of slime mold growth. This inspires us that the intelligence embedded in the structure of slime mold networks could be applied in urban planning via AI drawing.

We select Taichung's 14th Redevelopment Zone as the site and classify the elements into network and node systems. According to the precise prompt, AI generates new communication networks from input maps. An urban network that mimics slime molds enables heterogeneous systems to create new connections by scattering The living space into tiny fragments of social space, which redefines urban planning from a multispecies perspective.
